TREKKING ATLAS MOUNTAINS
Morocco is quite simply, an incredible trekking destination. The Atlas Mountains host several 4,000m+ peaks and the mountain landscape is dramatic and beautiful, dotted with ancient small Berber villages and rushing melt water streams.
Our treks in Morocco are available to book any day for groups of two or more people. We do not offer scheduled group treks, but if you would prefer to join a group (or are travelling alone), we usually have several treks departing each week that you can join.
The Atlas Mountains in winter:Trekking is available throughout the winter in the Atlas Mountains. For the vast majority of people the best option is our
three day valleys trek, which stays mostly below the snow-line with fantastic views and traditional Berber villages. This can be extended to a four or five day trek on request. It is possible to arrange Toubkal climbs in winter (Nov - March), but we require prior experience with crampons and ice axes before attempting this climb. More information contact us
We recommend combining a trek with a couple of days in a nice riad in Marrakech, and all treks are available to book with a standard boutique Marrakech package or as trek alone. We can also combine treks with Essaouira, the coast and the trips out to the Sahara.
All treks include English speaking mountain guides, transfers from Marrakech, chefs and most importantly mules to carry your packs.
The Toubkal Region containing all the highest peaks, is by far the most popular region is the atlas for walkers, it is bounded by the tizi N'test to the west, and the Tizi N'tichka to the east, most of the interest is concentrated in or around the central line of peaks from ouankrim north east to annrhemes and angour.
